Italian-meringue buttercream

Following my search for the best icing cream, I arrived to the mythical Italian-meringue buttercream — it's simply amazing, both silky and fluffy, deliciously light and creamy... You should follow my recipe to achieve this amazing icing cream with minimal effort :-)

Buttercream

I started my cake-making adventure lately, and the first, most basic cream used to ice the cake is the buttercream — it's very simple, and makes a delicious, thick and stable cake cream that you will love!

As you can see in the recipe image, I used it already in my vanilla butterscotch cupcakes, which got rave reviews from my friends and coworkers! :-) Unfortunately the cream alone is rather not spectacular, just a sweet, delicious blob of butter and sugar ;-)

Butterscotch

I was always afraid of making caramel from scratch, but it turns out it's a piece of... cake ;-) This creamy, buttery and smooth caramel cream is delicious on a crisp cake, or as a drizzle. Prepare some upfront and store it safely for 7-10 days in the fridge.

Sweet potato quiche

Quiche is that one recipe that I love coming back to — it's easy to make, looks delicious and tastes heavenly :-) Plus, it allows me to come up with new fillings, which makes it very versatile!

Sweet potatoes are very smooth and creamy when boiled, then baked, and shallots add a crunchy texture. The combination of them is very mild and aromatic, so make sure you spice it up to your liking!

This recipe is not for the faint-hearted — it requires some frying skills, but makes a really tasty, delicious meal with a massive wow-factor without any extra hassle :-) I actually got the idea for this, when my local grocery store offered special 1kg packages of Vitelotte, a.k.a. purple potatoes. I wanted to make something tasty, but also colourful and festive, thus this crazy, colourful and festive meal was born! ---|

On good thing about these potatoes is, they seem to lower blood pressure and have inflammatory components, which might be a good thing for a winter meal :-)
